Websites to Test Yahoo - Simple site with small images that should always be quick to load. Google - Simple site with minimal images that should always be quick to load. Picture Gallary - Loads of images but is located on IDL's network in Broadmeadow so should be quick to load. Microsoft - Located in the US and is highly graphical, slow loads can often be due to the actual PC being underpowered. Yellow Pages / White Pages - Located on Telstra's backbone in Australia . Nine MSN - Located on Telstra's backbone in Adelaide. Contains lots of grahpics. |

General Utilities - Extra tools that may be usefull. WARNING! - These applications are not supported by IDL, use at your own risk. NetStat Live - Simple application to show your current download speeds and monthly totals. I have found it a little buggy at times but it's free. DU Meter - Great download meter. Ping Plotter - An excellent application for finding the location of issues with speeds to particular websites and servers on the Internet. |
